Zines In The Suburbs:
13 July @ Milton Keynes Art Gallery Project Space
As part of the 50th anniversary of the city of Milton Keynes, we filled the project space of Milton Keynes Art Gallery with zines. We gathered zines from small areas of the world. There were artist statements, zines on display, a zine library with reading room, and chance to sit and speak to a zine artist informally.
Festival of the Perzine
9 July @ Housmans book shop, Kings Cross
As part of Small Press Day: a perzine festival at Housmans book shop.
An Afternoon of Zines
7 May @ Putney Library
As part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2016, we hosted a free zine event, with zines to buy from the UK + Europe, a 1996 - 2016 zine exhibition, and guest zine writer: Zina of Echo Publishing, Belgium.
2015
Wimbledon Zine Fair
14 November @ Wimbledon public Iibrary
We hired a cosy corner of Wimbledon Library and had stalls with zines for sale, including zines by: The Feminist library, Vicky Ann Smith, Lisa Stockley, Emma Jane Falconer, Hanna magazine, Lil Ashton, Michael J Weller, Fliss Collier. And SWZines brought zines together from around the world. We also celebrated World Vegan Month with free vegan sweets and recipe cards.
2014
Camberwell Arts Festival
21 June @ Lucas Gardens
We hosted a zine picnic, sharing food and drink, swapping zines, with a mobile zine library and a social. There was also an impromptu mobile museum of artefacts from supporters of the 1984 Miners' Strike!
2013
A Christmas Zine Social
7 December @ Housmans radical bookshop, Caledonian Road, King's Cross
We hosted our first evening of 'zines. This event promoted Housmans' existing 'zine stock, as well as sourcing new 'zines from various lovely folks.
Autumn Zine Fest, Kingston
20 October @ The Fighting Cocks pub, Kingston, Surrey
We had a table to sell all our 'zines at this inaugural Kingston 'zine event. Here's to more round this way!
Alternative Press Fair
1 June @ The Albert, Queens Park, London, NW6
SWZines had a stall at 2013's Alternative Press Fair which was full of zines, art books, and small press for sale.
Loosely Bound's pop-up zine shop
17th May @ Market Street, Bradford, Yorkshire
A couple of us travelled up to Bradford to visit Loosely Bound Collective's new pop-up zine shop in Bradford! We were in conversation, about zine making and SW Zine Collective. We were very excited indeed to be able to be there! The zine shop was absolutely joyously packed with homemade zines, asnd people were invited to have a sit and read of the zines in the zine library, browse the zines for sale in the shop, and come to the events, all for free! Bradford has some wonderful, creative people, and lovely shops like Handmade in Bradford. We spent lots and lots on jewellery, crafts, and zines galore, and now we cannot move for lovely homemade things! We shall return!
Clapton Zine Fair
5 May @ The Dentist, 33 Chatsworth Road, Clapton
Clapton had its first zine fair! SW Zines was there with a stall of various zines by many different people. We were so excited to be invited by the organisers after they had found and read one of our zines in Housmans radical book shop. A fantastic day long event in a lovely, reclaimed shop, on a really lively, interesting, overrun-with-independent-shops east end road.

DIY Cultures zine / independent press fair
7 April @ Rich Mix Cinema, Hackney
Zine fair celebrating the spirit of DIY, with a zine fair, where we had a stall, also there were talks, films, workshops, and live music.
How Does it Feel to Be Loved record fair
23 February @ The Canterbury Arms, Brixton
There were records for sale, DJs playing indie pop, bar, and SW Zines selling a selection of music fanzines.

Zine meet up
15 December, Wimbledon
We met in a bar as a group to discuss zines, swap zines, show our work, swap info/flyers,
and generally socialise. We began working on individual pages to be
compiled into a joint 'zine about us!
SE London Zine Fest
11 November @ Amersham Arms, New Cross
We had a half-table to sell our 'zine wares! It was brilliant. Thank you!
The Art of Zines/Zine Swap! - Stuart Hall Library at Iniva
6 October - 21 December
Stuart Hall Library launched an exhibition of zines from its permanent reading collection, curated by us the South West London and Surrey Zine Collective! The exhibition launch event was followed by a zine swap, and launch of our distro, Staple Diet.
